I don't know if I'm not happy or if I'm just deathly bored. I don't think I'm unhappy because I have no reason to be. I have awesome friends both at BG and of course home, I also like the friends my OSU friends made; good call. I just wish OSU people were done so I can hang out with you. I hope this summer is memorable as this may be my last summer at home. If everything goes as planned next summer I will be getting an apartment over the summer and taking summer courses at BG.

Wow, I just realized 1/3 of my summer is over. June, July, and two weeks in august are all that remains. The more I think about it the more I wish I would stop thinking about it, but I can't help but realize I don't have much time to hang out with everyone. A big part of me wishes I had gone to OSU instead of BG. Sometimes I wonder how different my life would be. I may wonder such things, but I do not regret the decision I made. The people I've met and the experienes I've gone through have given me a new perspective on life. Though I've been told this my whole life I never realized it till college, but I am damn lucky I grew up in Dublin. I always take it for granted but I'm glad my parents make a good living.

There's something missing and I can't quite put my finger on it...

p.s I'm glad I've stopped lying to myself

Sometimes i wonder why things happen why they do. Something happened to me, then the same thing happened to my little (little brother, pretty much im his mentor in the fraternity). Its very odd.

I got to thinking today. I started to compare myself from now to one year ago, and came to the conclusion that I'm a better person, and that i understand different situations a little better and how to handle them. For some reason I think its odd that I am excited that I am doing something thats supposed to happen.

So this past weekend I went to a retreat called Emerging Leaders. Its for those who have gone greek. Each fraternity and soririty sends two people. What we do is learn some leadership skills, and learn how to unite greek life rather than keep us apart. As corny as some of the shit we did was, i had a blast, and met some really cool people i would never have been any other way. Oh, and met some hot sorority chicks too ;-)

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
while the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
in the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
and the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;
also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher; all is vanity.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The forebearing use of power does not only form a touchstone; but the manner in which an individual enjoys certain advantages over others, is a test of a true gentleman. The power which the strong have over the weak, the magistrate over the citizen, the employer over the employed, the educated over the unlettered, the experienced over the confiding, even the clever over the silly; the forebearing and inoffensive use of all this power or authority, or a total abstinence from it when the case admits it, will show the gentleman in a plain light. The gentleman does not needlessly and unnecessarily remind an offender of a wrong he may have committed against him. He cannot only forgive, he can forget; and he strives for that nobleness of self and mildness of character, which imparts sufficient strength to let the past be but the past. A true man of honor feels humbled himself when he cannot help humbling others.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I cannot trust a man to control others who cannot control himself

Last week I gave glamrock_kills a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). In June I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). Last Wednesday I broke sugarshit_spark's X-Box (-12 points). Last Thursday I helped arnath across the street (6 points).

Overall, I've been nice (64 points). For Christmas I deserve a Lego set!

Sincerely,
laux

Write your letter to Santa!
